It's The Little Things// Stickers

I'm always working these days to find new little things to interest Greyson that also help with his development in some way. We have tried painting & drawing on numerous occasions. I've attempted to get him to play with stickers a few times, but have been pretty unsuccessful. He just wasn't interested - until the other day!

I pulled out this cute cardboard box that our Freshly Picked moccasins came in & the accompanying stickers & let Greyson have at it! I showed him how to stick them on the cardboard a few times & he only tried to stick one to the floor. That's a win!

He was fascinated by how they stuck to his fingers and kept trying to pull them back up after sticking them to the cardboard so he could keep sticking them!

His sticker masterpiece is chaotic & fun! Perfect non-messy activity for the littlest ones! For a change, he didn't try to figure out how to eat the craft!

I just know a sticker book will make a perfect stocking stuffer for this little guy!

Countdown to Halloween// Trick or Treat 2014

 Happy Halloween everyone!

We finished off our festive month with some super fun food! Breakfast we enjoyed some pumpkin shaped toast with BOO-nanas! Greyson was pretty thrilled when he realized he got to have some mini chocolate chips at breakfast!

And lunch was "pumpkin" clementines & bloody eyeballs, aka meatballs with marinara sauce.

I thought it would be fun to try out my back-up costume idea for Greyson, which was Clark Kent! He was so cute running around all day dressed as a little superhero in disguise. Tried to give him some old sunglasses with the lenses removed to wear around & he wasn't having any part of it! Ha

Ah he's such a little ham! Love him!

So we had 2 nights of Trick or Treating fun planned this year. My husband's work had a Halloween & Trick or Treat event on Thursday for all of the wing members & their families. The kids got to dress up in their costumes & go to the offices, which were decked out in spooky things, in the building to trick or treat. There was a bouncy house & build your own rice crispy "pumpkins" and lots of appetizers & desserts for everyone. We had a good time hanging with other families & Greyson loved getting lots of candy!

I even got a little festive myself & dressed up as a kitty! Greyson was a little confused when I got him up from his nap with the face already drawn on & may have tried to grab the whiskers!

And then on Halloween we dressed up & ventured out to do some trick or treating on one of the base housing areas. We met up with some friends & walked around for about an hour. Greyson got tons of candy & everyone thought he was super cute! My efforts to get him to say "trick or treat" or "thank you" to anyone failed, but he was too cute for anyone to pass his bucket up!

Anytime he would get a new piece of candy, he would immediately grab it out of the bucket, inspect it & want to carry it around.

All in all, Halloween was so much fun this year! I know he will just love it next year when he is another year older & understands what's going on!

And I thought it would be fun, since I came across them today, to share some pictures of Greyson from Halloween 2013! He was a tiny little 8.5 month old! Ah memories!

Happy Monday everyone! Now time to break out the Christmas music & holiday planning! I have so much fun in store I can hardly contain my excitement!

Countdown to Halloween// Week Four

Ah am a little behind on getting this written! The last week & a half were a little rough with me not feeling up to doing much & daddy was gone for like 4 days.

I did, however, manage to keep up with some of my planned Halloween fun!

We made some Halloween cards for some lucky people! Greyson ghost footprint cards! Perfect little craft for mommy & toddler. He was weirded out with the paint on his foot at first, then he just laughed when I had to add more.

Thanks to my husband's lovely cousin, we got to enjoy some delicious Pumpkin Spice Oreos! They made such a good treat for all of us, especially cookie monster Greyson!
And of course he's worn his skeleton hoodie almost everyday this week, which meant lots of laundry for mommy to make that happen!

I wasn't loving the outcome of Grey's ghost costume DIY that I was attempting. It just didn't come out like I imagined. Plus, it would require painting his face & if 4th of July was any indication of how he would do, I was sure he'd flip out on me for trying.
So I found someone selling his cute little dino costume last minute! Plus I bet it will be warmer than the ghost would've ended up. He is a pretty darn cute Grey-asaurus Rex!

While daddy was away, we visited the pumpkin patch! We got a small pumpkin to carve, which, of course, is still sitting on the table uncarved.. But I wanted daddy to get to help so we plan to do it tomorrow afternoon!

We had a small playdate the other day for one last bit of fun for awhile since a dear friend & her family just left to move back stateside. I made some Halloween treats to take & share plus made little goodie bags for my friend's kids who were traveling & would be missing a lot of Halloween fun.

 On the Menu:
Monster Mash [aka puppy chow]
Ghost Pretzels

Greyson played the part of quality control with the ghost pretzels. The goal was for him to help, but he just wanted to steal pretzels & mini chocolate chips.

Ah so many treats, so much fun! Can't wait for the extra bit of fun we have going on the rest of the week to round out our Halloween festivities!
