Merry Christmas!

Ah I can't believe Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye. So much excitement and buildup for the whole month & the day just seems to fly by. We had a quiet little Christmas morning at home again this year. We ate cinnamon rolls (that I baked in the shape of a Christmas tree), opened our stocking & gifts, and Skyped with family. And of course had a delicious dinner with some good friends to round our a good day!

Here are some pictures that we captured throughout the day!
If you can't tell by his face, Greyson was less than excited about opening gifts. I'd say Greg and I opened about 90% of his gifts for him! while the other 10% were done out of coercion.
The alphabet puzzle and stackable fingers crayons were probably the biggest hit right away. He has since come around & loves just about everything he got, especially the chair!
Our German landlords are the sweetest. They stopped by Christmas morning with some goodies! We got some sweets, a decorative star & Legos for Grey!
Christmas really is a magical time when you have kids! I seriously can't wait for next year when Grey is another year older & hopefully more excited in the moment!
I hope you had an awesome day with friends & family! And we wish you a happy new year!

25 Days of Christmas// Week 3

Well here we are in the finally stretch before Christmas! I can hardly believe it! December really did just fly by this year!

We've been so busy the last couple of weeks with having to do stuff for our move in a few months that I honestly just forgot so many of hype activities I had planned! My whole "schedule" kind of went down the drain this last week and a half thanks to lots of errand running & annoying appointments.

But here's a little recap of the fun we did manage to have, bringing us right up to Christmas Eve!

We made more cookies when daddy worked late! Of course Grey kept wanting to steal them. And was excited when they were done! I discovered that decorating cookies with a toddler is literally crazy!
Then of course we bundled up and delivered cookies to our landlords, their daughter & our neighbors! Luckily, cookies are universal!
Greyson and I made some cinnamon salt dough ornaments. I really wanted the handprint one and the others were just for fun!
We created a hot chocolate monster who clearly needs rehab to wean himself off of the cocoa.
Greg's work had their unit holiday party, which we decided at the last minute to go to. We had a good time with some friends and Grey got to hang out with other little ones, watch some Christmas movies & have pizza!
One morning was particularly gloomy, so we grabbed some warm blankets & read Christmas books over and over!
I whipped out the paint and I let Greyson paint the for fun cinnamon ornaments. He had fun using the paintbrush and of course thought they were cookies! Good thing it wasn't painted yet!
And to round out our countdown, we watched a Christmas movie, made white chocolate peppermint cookies for Santa & opened new Christmas Eve pjs!

It's been such a fun month getting ready for Christmas! Can't wait to share our a Christmas morning pictures!

25 Days of Christmas// Week 2

Ah I can't believe it's already the week before Christmas! Where has the time gone? We've been so busy over here with fun activities just filling our day up with craziness sometimes that I haven't really had time to share it all. Even better, half the time I don't even have a chance to take photos of all the fun!

So here's a recap of our second week of Christmas, days 8-14

Day 8: make a popcorn treat & watch The Polar Express
Grey liked this! He hadn't seen it before and was super into it! He held onto one of his color flash cards, which almost looks like a ticket from the movie, the whole time! The popcorn was delicious! Just regular butter popcorn with some melted white chocolate and Christmas colored sprinkles! Yum!

Day 9: Special gift - Build a Santa window cling & decorate the door
This was tricky at first but he realized they were like stickers and had a blast. Now he just rips them off the windows any chance he gets!

Day 10: make gingerbread-scented playdough
This was a fun activity for both of us. Grey is getting more interested in helping me do baking & crafting things. I let him help pour things junto the bowl and mix it when he's able to, depending on the consistency. And what's better than something you get to play with in the end?! He's actually gotten into playing with the playdough instead of just trying to eat it!

Day 11: hot cocoa treat
Greyson loves not cocoa and after some outside freezing fun, it's a good treat for him! He gets so excited and loves that he gets to use the little mug. And of course picks all of his marshmallows out to eat first!

Day 12: Christmas coloring!
When we were in the states, my mom pulled out a few old coloring books for Greyson to play with & we ended up bringing a Christmas one back with us. I got him to sit & color with me for a little bit! Though no coloring session is complete without his favorite Movhael Buble Christmas music!

Day 13: mail our Christmas package. No pictures because there wasn't really anything to take pictures of!

Day 14: Bake Christmas cookies
This was a fun endeavor! He wasn't interested in helping make the dough, but he was all out cutting out the dough with the cookie cutters! I even got him to help roll out some dough with the rolling pin!

So much fun and so busy all at the same time! We're already nearing the end of the next week with plenty more Christmas excitement to share soon!
