Friday Favorites

Ah Friday at last!

It doesn't really feel like Friday around here since I've had Greg home for just over 2 weeks now. But nonetheless, it's almost the weekend & that's the best time to share some of my favorites of this week!

{One}
Ah so delicious sounding! With Thanksgiving less than a week away, I've been searching for a delicious adult beverage to make for the day. And I think this might just be the one! I am seriously excited just looking at the picture! Yum!

{Two}
My mother-in-law bought these & she didn't love how they fit & she knows I like leggings so she gave them to me. Man are they comfy! They are thicker than the other pairs I have so they keep me nice & warm. Plus, they're ankle-length so I can wear them with my boots without a gap!

{Three}
I've had my eye on some camp socks for awhile! I have heard tons about how comfy they are & these are just cute! They would be perfect with my leggings or to wear with some boots for a little extra warmth!

{Four}
I have a serious addiction to coffee & coffee mugs. I never feel like I can have enough of either. And during our trip I found the Starbucks' new cup line & they are so cute! I like the red cup since it's like having a holiday cup at home that I can use forever. But there are about 20 others I love to! Your coffee mug is seriously like an accessory. Definitely on my wishlist this year!

{Five}
I just love how much Greyson loves animals, especially our dogs! He is always so happy to see them in the morning & he can frequently be found cuddling one of them. And of course coercing them into tons of kisses!

There ya have it! Hope everyone has a great weekend full of fun & laughter!

Our Visit To The States

10:14 AM Amanda Greathouse 1 Comments

So after a long time of quiet here on the blog, we are back home from our almost 2 week trip back to the states. I have a bunch of pictures to share, but honestly not nearly as many as I imagined I'd have.

We were on the go everyday & I rarely took the time to whip out my camera for some pictures. Too busy living in the moments I suppose. Not to mention, we can't use our phones as phones in the states so we didn't carry them with us. Hence, no phone photos either, other than what I've managed to swipe from our family!

Greyson loved running laps around my parents' dining room table!

It hasn't been too terribly cold in Germany so we'd gotten away with just layering a hoodie & light jacket for Grey but we knew going to Ohio would be much colder. The selections were much better than on base here so we finally got Greyson his winter coat! It is huge compared to him but hopefully that means it will last all winter!

Mmm crunchy fall leaves! He was pretty fascinated with them just like mommy!

Daddy taught Greyson how to roll/throw the ball back & forth with aim & intention. He was having a blast!

And what trip isn't complete with some new cups!? My favorite by far is this crazy straw mason jar cup! How awesome! The dollar store definitely got it right with this green gem!

And 2 playdates at the indoor playground at McDonald's, since it was way too cold to go outside. We got to meet up for one with a friend of ours from high school & meet her little man! It made me realize very quickly how fast Grey has grown up! He was so small & adorable!

One thing about being in Germany is that we rarely get much time to do things just Greg & I. So we got some kid-free fun while Grey stayed with our families.

First, date night! Greyson stayed with my mom overnight while we went to see a movie & grabbed some food & drinks during the Thursday night football game. We saw Interstellar & while it was a crazy almost 3 hours long, we both agreed it was worth it! Captivating & very original!

Then Saturday, Greyson went to Greg's parents' house while we headed up to where I went to college. We  met up with some of my best friends & my sister, who took the picture instead of getting in it, at a winery. The food &, most importantly, the wine were delicious! I miss these girls so much & seriously can't wait to be back stateside forever!

And after spending the night with my sister, Greg & I headed to our first NFL game - Browns vs. Texans!
We've never been to an NFL game before this & it was so much fun! Greg is a huge Browns fan & we sat in the Dawgpound, so he was in heaven! We were bundled up to the max! They may have lost & it was literally below freezing, but that didn't spoil our fun!

And the morning we were leaving, we woke up to tons of snow all over the place! It was crazy but beautiful! We didn't have any snow in Germany last year so it had been almost 2 years since we had seen snow. Even though we needed to pack, we took a short break to bundle up & go play in the snow for a bit!

Clearly we need to invest in some snow boots for little Grey. He hates the mittens & having to wear them didn't help make him like the snow any more! Can't wait until we get some snow over here so we can take him out more & try again!

Ah man was it a crazy, busy trip! We had so much running around to do to visit with everyone that we hardly had a moment to just chill. It's always hard to leave, but we will be back in just a few months, so that helps make it a little easier.

We have slowly unpacked almost everything & are just battling some wicked jet lag. I have some fun traveling with a toddler tips coming soon along with how to kick jet lag to the curb!

Happy almost Friday!

Trip Preparations

We're knee deep in To-Do lists, suitcases & anxiety!

In just a couple of days we will be making our next trip back to the states to visit with family & friends before we finish out our last few months in Germany & move to Colorado! This will be our first trip back together since last year & the first one with a true toddler! So needless to say, it shall be interesting!

Hoping that plenty of planning & our previous experience will make this trip easier & go as smoothly as possible. To-Do and Packing lists have been started & I seem to find something new to add to each everytime I walk past the fridge. Most are common sense but I am such a list person & it makes me feel better to cross it off & visually see on paper that it's done!

Greyson decided to pull out his blankets while I was folding his laundry in attempts to get it all ready to be packed. He is crazy for his blankets, it's so adorable. He's always loved them.

And of course the inevitable pile of suitcases & carry-on bags has begun to accumulate. They're locked & loaded & ready to be packed!

 Greyson is such an experienced little traveler already! He has been to the states & back twice now, with another flight during one from Cleveland to BWI. He has even endured 3 car rides between Baltimore & Ohio and a long trip from Germany to Normandy.

In lieu of our upcoming trip, here are some pictures of our cute little traveler!

Stay tuned for some of our tips for making your international trip & long car ride that follows with your toddler easier! And of course all the fun we will be having while on our trip!
