Countdown to Halloween// Week Four

Ah am a little behind on getting this written! The last week & a half were a little rough with me not feeling up to doing much & daddy was gone for like 4 days.

I did, however, manage to keep up with some of my planned Halloween fun!

We made some Halloween cards for some lucky people! Greyson ghost footprint cards! Perfect little craft for mommy & toddler. He was weirded out with the paint on his foot at first, then he just laughed when I had to add more.

Thanks to my husband's lovely cousin, we got to enjoy some delicious Pumpkin Spice Oreos! They made such a good treat for all of us, especially cookie monster Greyson!
And of course he's worn his skeleton hoodie almost everyday this week, which meant lots of laundry for mommy to make that happen!

I wasn't loving the outcome of Grey's ghost costume DIY that I was attempting. It just didn't come out like I imagined. Plus, it would require painting his face & if 4th of July was any indication of how he would do, I was sure he'd flip out on me for trying.
So I found someone selling his cute little dino costume last minute! Plus I bet it will be warmer than the ghost would've ended up. He is a pretty darn cute Grey-asaurus Rex!

While daddy was away, we visited the pumpkin patch! We got a small pumpkin to carve, which, of course, is still sitting on the table uncarved.. But I wanted daddy to get to help so we plan to do it tomorrow afternoon!

We had a small playdate the other day for one last bit of fun for awhile since a dear friend & her family just left to move back stateside. I made some Halloween treats to take & share plus made little goodie bags for my friend's kids who were traveling & would be missing a lot of Halloween fun.

 On the Menu:
Monster Mash [aka puppy chow]
Ghost Pretzels

Greyson played the part of quality control with the ghost pretzels. The goal was for him to help, but he just wanted to steal pretzels & mini chocolate chips.

Ah so many treats, so much fun! Can't wait for the extra bit of fun we have going on the rest of the week to round out our Halloween festivities!

Sunshine Pumpkin Farm// Pumpkin Patch

Ah the weekend is wrapping on up! Soon it will be Monday & everyone will be back in the grind of things.

Daddy had to work today & will be gone for a few days. I hate when he has to be away & always try to find fun things to occupy our time to make it go by faster. I had debated not going back to the pumpkin farm after the mud craziness that was last weekend. Plus it was kinda gloomy this morning & seemed as though rain was impending.

I decided to suck it up & go anyways & so glad we did! It was a short trip, but oh so fun! Greyson was loving the field of pumpkins!

He was excited & confused all at once! He didn't understand what we were doing, but soon caught on & decided running around the pumpkin patch was a blast!

He fell a few times & got good & muddy! He was taken aback when he would get mud on his hands. He didn't know what to do. I had to reassure him that it would be okay & quickly wipe it off!

He found this giant pumpkin & just wanted to lay on it! It was so funny!

We found this little pumpkin to buy & take home to carve! It isn't perfect by any means, but it's the cutest little toddler-sized pumpkin! Can't wait to have him help scoop it out!

And of course he needed to step on a few..

It was such a fun little trip for us! I wish daddy had been able to go with us. I foresee many years of pumpkin patch visits ahead of us! Now on to finish up the last few days of October & ring in Halloween with a bang!

31 Days of Halloween// Week Three

9:05 AM Amanda Greathouse 7 Comments

We've rounded out week three of our countdown to Halloween! I've really been having fun coming up with things for Greyson to do or us to eat! Adding the extra festiveness into everyday is my favorite! Finally putting all those ideas from Pinterest to good use that I've been hoarding forever!

We scored Hotel Transylvania for Grey on Bluray last week! He was doing great while we were at the store & decided to pick up this little treat for him! It's such a cute movie & he really likes it! We've watched it a few times now.

Of course making food shaped like pumpkins is easy! And I couldn't resist with our Pumpkin Spice pancakes! They were delicious! And no recipe as they were from a box [*gasp!]

I've been wanting pumpkin spice coffee so badly lately & our commissary hasn't gotten the liquid creamer, still! So I broke down, did some research & made my own! Check out the recipe here

Last week I grabbed a small pumpkin [probably a ghord honestly, but toddlers don't know the difference] & set Greyson up to paint it!

Of course he was interested for a whopping 2 minutes before he decided he wanted to do things like this instead...

I eventually got him to let me help him paint it some! It's a crazy colorful mess but it's a cute little decoration for our kitchen!

Oh and I loved my chalkboard art so much I decided to make it into a canvas too! I love how it turned out! It's a perfect little addition to our living room & now I can keep it around for a long time!

And what countdown to Halloween is complete without a little superhero dress-up? None! Greyson had some silly times running around like Superman!

I've had making playdough on my To-Do list for awhile now & finally got the motivation to do it! I used the recipe shared on Meet the Sulivans! Pumpkin spice playdough! Not only was it super easy to make, it smells delicious! And I was able to rope Greyson into helping me! Ours turned out a little on the firm side since Greyson decided to take it upon himself to add an 1/8 cup extra of flour! After working it a bunch, it's very soft & fun to play with!

I made our playdough balls into 4 colors - natural [no coloring], red, orange & yellow. Perfect fall colors! Everyone's favorite pumpkin cup & Grey's Bearista even hung around for some playdough action!

After procrastinating forever & not loving the selection of costumes here, Greg convinced me to make Greyson a ghost for Halloween! It is simple, cheap & he loves to run around saying "BOO!" so it just seems perfect. Started working out the logistics of how to piece it all together & we have a prototype!

And we got a sneak peak of the pumpkin patch & took a tractor ride with farm tour over the weekend. It was a blast!

Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait for the extra festivities that are on the horizon with Halloween just 10 days away! Bring on the BOOs!
