Halloween Countdown// Part 1

October is here! Man am I excited for fall & everything that it brings!
I love decorating & coming up with fun little things to do once the weather cools down. This week has been a busy one [as seems to be our new normal] so we haven't gotten a ton done in the first few days of the month.

Here is a little of what we've been up to bringing October in this year:
A little front porch décor & orange all throughout the house!

We also went to a pumpkin farm last weekend. So many pictures were taken that I just had to share more!

It's not much but it's been fun & pumpkin-filled!
We have some pumpkin carving, costume hunting & Boo at the Zoo-ing coming up this next week! Already excited!

21 weeks

Happy Friday! This week has flown by for sure, which is a little surprising following a long 3-4 day weekend! But with each Friday comes a new week of my pregnancy! Hard to believe we're over halfway to meeting our newest addition!
How far along: 18 weeks

Gender: 4 more days until we find out!!
Weight gain: Not sure but my guess is like 9 lbs? I'm sure that number will jump up with the season of Halloween candy, Thanksgiving dinners & holiday treats quickly approaching!
Maternity clothes: always! My goal is to finally get pants for work this weekend so I can stop wearing my regular ones with a belly band or yoga pants!
Stretch marks: Not yet! & hopefully none at all!
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: This cool weather is perfect for sleeping now! Not sleeping a ton, but man do I sleep hard when I do.
Best moment this week: My belly popped much more in the last day or so! It was still in the sort-of pregnant look but now it's out for good
Worst moment this week: Grad school work & long, busy days at work have made me crazy exhausted
Miss anything: A good strawberry margarita!
Movement: Yep! I notice it most at night when everything has calmed down from the day. It's such a good feeling!
Cravings: Apple cider & red grapes! Random things depending on the day
Queasy or sick: Not really any more!
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex reeeeally soon! So excited!

We are so close finally to our anatomy scan! It seems like it's taken forever to get here. My doctor schedules the scan for 18-22 weeks & they are always very busy so I wasn't able to get in for mine until 21.5 weeks! So much later than everyone, but there should be no questions if the little one is cooperative!
And since I have been crazy busy & haven't posted the last few weeks of bump pictures... here is 19 & 20 weeks!

I really do hope I can bring myself to manage my time better & get back to my regular posting!
Until then, I will continue to play catch up!

And with that, it's a cozy socks, sparkling grape juice & movie night here!

Pumpkin Patch 2015

We decided to finally head to a pumpkin farm over the weekend! I made some plans with our neighbor friends & their sweet little girl who Greyson loves & we set out! It didn't look the nicest from outside of it honestly, but the kids had fun getting to do everything!
Plus my lovely friend Brooke is a very good photographer & she captured some lovely pictures of Greyson & a few with me while we were there!

There was a big tin thing full of corn kernels for people to get in. Greyson was very unsure at first & kept telling me his feet were dirty. But once he realized he could mess with it like sand, he was throwing it around like it was a party!
And this thing! Oh man! It was this huge pillow bouncing thing. Tons of people were on it so of course the kids wanted to try but with adults & big kids jumping, it was very hard to stand. The little ones were pretty scared once we got up there. But I got cute hugging pictures out of it, so win!
And no trip to the pumpkin farm is complete without a few pumpkins and pictures picking them! The kids wondered around wanting to take every pumpkin home, but we ultimately settled on 2 [which I had to carry most of the way, no help from Greyson!]
It was a fun little day that ended up way hotter than we planned, based on how we dressed for the occasion! But nonetheless, a perfectly basic visit to a pumpkin farm to kick-off our fall activities. I reallllly hope I can step it back up this year & keep up with all of my fun plans. I have a compilation of fall décor & activities coming very soon... I hope!

Very excited this week has flown by & that the weekend is right around the corner again!

Greyson's Big Boy Room// Progress & Inspirations

I have known that I wanted to change up Greyson's room from the moment we moved here. Probably even before that. I was over the monkey theme thing he had going on & wanted to make his room so that it could grow with him as he gets older.

The first step was to change out some furniture for bigger pieces, & get rid of the baby toys that were still laying around. We bought a twin sized bed from someone for cheap. However, it was a light wood & all of his furniture is dark, almost black. So Greg spent an entire weekend sanding it down & re-staining it [thanks to our neighbors who let us borrow their electric sander so he didn't have to do it the long, slow way].
With the new bed frame came a new mattress, sheets & comforter. We went pretty simple & cheap with it as both the sheet set & comforter are from Ikea. But that comforter is totally soft - I love laying on it to put him to bed!
And of course we finally got him curtains. I didn't really have black ones in mind, but when we set out to buy them, Target only had the long black ones in the black-out curtains so we went with it. They totally work well for keeping his room dark, which also keeps it cool since his room is on the warmer, sunny East side of the house.
Around his bed is probably my least favorite right now since it's bare still. I am working on finding stuff for the walls & to spruce it up, but am being super picky & just can't find exactly what I've been looking for.

I have thought a lot about what to decorate his room with & finally decided on cars! Not the cartoon movie, but actual cars. He is obsessed with them so I figure it's a good idea. I don't plan to go crazy with it. I'm kind of a minimalist in some aspects when it comes to decorating - I want it to look good & not just be overcrowded with stuff.
So here is a bit of my inspiration that I've found to pull aspects of for Grey's room!

I love the vintage car displayed on the shelf & the use of old license plates for wall décor.

Traffic Light Lamp - such a fun little addition to a side table or dresser!
Magnetic Strip Car Storage - I really like this as opposed to shelving right now because while neatly organized shelves look awesome, it's unrealistic with a toddler. These magnetic strips are easy for him to use & get the cars up off the floor!

Lego Side Table - How fun! I've been wanting to make this for awhile since I first saw it! Greyson already has this table in his room so it's a simple & awesome DIY! Plus, the little road made on the extra part of the table is perfect for a car-loving little boy!

There are some of the ideas & inspirations I've been drawing from for Greyson's room. I have been seeking out the best places to get everything for the best price. I definitely hope to have his room put together sooner than later!

Happy Hump Day!

18 weeks

I'm so behind on sharing the bump pictures this time around! Oh man! The weeks are just flying by!
How far along: 18 weeks

Gender: Anatomy scan is set for October 20! Anxiously waiting!
Weight gain: 6 lbs
Maternity clothes: always! Still haven't found pants for work, but otherwise comfy clothes are in full swing!
Stretch marks: Not yet! & hopefully none at all!
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: It's gotten better with the cool weather but weird dreams have started so I wake up a lot super confused! ha
Best moment this week: Started definitely feeling movement this week! I was sort of in denial but it can't be mistaken!
Worst moment this week: Pregnancy allergies are the worst!
Miss anything: Adult beverages mostly! And sleeping through the night
Movement: Yep! It's not a ton yet, but it's for sure there! Very reassuring!
Cravings: Apples all the time! I make a spiced apple cider basically every day at work! And pumpkin everything! So happy fall flavors are out everywhere!
Queasy or sick: Not really any more, thank goodness! It finally died down. I get a little sick if I don't eat soon enough after waking up, but that's just me in general.
Looking forward to: The anatomy scan so we can know everything is looking good & what this little baby is! And deciding on a name finally! We have a list but it's sort of stalled right now

And here were 16 & 17 weeks that I totally didn't make chalkboards for! Oops! #pregnancymakesmeaslacker

Happy weekend world!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! I love the end of a busy week when we can collect our thoughts & enjoy the weekend ahead! We don't have a ton of plans yet, but I'm sure we will find some fun somewhere!

In the meantime, I've collected a few of my favorites from this week to share with you!

 {ONE}
Pregnancy pillows are such a great idea! I never had or needed one with Greyson, but I am already sleeping like crap these days! So I invested in one of these bad boys a couple of weeks ago & it was such a great idea! It takes up a ton of space in our bed, but man does it make sleeping more comfortable!

{TWO}
I totally have fall on the brain! Cold front came through so we are enjoying 60 degree weather & it's amazing! Definitely ready for cardigan & scarf weather! This open front shawl caught my eye this morning! It looks so comfy & love the pockets!
And this adorable one for boys! Love a good mama & mini matching!

{THREE}
This faux fireplace! There are directions for building it & I am ready to do it! We need a new media stand since ours was a flop & I seriously want a mantle to decorate when the fall hits & especially around Christmas!
The plans have built in storage, which is awesome for hiding everything. I could totally find a way to decorate it all year long! The logs in the middle? Love! And even better? If we ever want to move it, we can because it's a stand alone piece that can be easily moved to go with us! Now to get my husband on board & rally some helpers!

Fall is right around the corner & it has me so excited for everything it brings! Can't wait for constant cool weather & all the fun plans I have to explore this still new to us area!

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday & great start to the weekend!

Life Lately// Pics from My iPhone

Man life is flying right by us! We are less than a week away from October & I couldn't be more surprised or excited!
I love fall so much & am beyond ready to put this hot summer Colorado weather behind us!
I've been so terrible with sharing updates & post lately. I have so many started & then pregnancy brain has made me forget I even started them! Not to mention school is picking up every week so I have more & more to do!
So here is a little photo dump from my phone about what we've been up to recently!
Greyson loves the automatic door that connects the BX & commissary here. Every time we are inside of either one he insists on running to it to open it over & over!
His hair was out of control obviously! But nonetheless, he is super playful & using his imagination like crazy! The things he comes up with show me every day how smart he is & just how fast he's growing up!
He is obsessed with books & has easily 15-20 books memorized so he reads them to us! And he found some old bottles the other day & was beyond excited to tell me how they're for baby!

We clearly love the zoo as we just went for the 4th time in just a couple of month! Greyson loves the animals & is more excited each time when he gets to interact with them. I couldn't get a video, but he was beyond crazy over the giraffes when they'd touch his hand! And he got to feed birds & have a few sit on his little stick!

So that's life these days! With all the fun of fall right around the corner, I have some good stuff planned! And of course have weeks of belly updates to get around to sharing!

Happy Sunday funday!

15 Weeks

Happy Sunday everyone!

How far along: 15 weeks

Gender: Won't find out until our 20 week ultrasound, but definitely excited to know!
Weight gain: Not sure! Hoping it's not too much!
Maternity clothes: yep! I live in the black tank & leggings I have on in the picture & have definitely graduated to maternity jeans or using the BellaBand with any other pants. Have to invest in maternity work pants for sure asap!
Stretch marks: Hoping for none again this round! Been using stretch mark cream so fingers crossed it works well!
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Better-ish. I wake up a lot having to pee or adjust because I am not a side sleeper so I get uncomfortable, but the Snoogle pillow definitely helps
Best moment this week: Just comparing bumps with when I was pregnant with Greyson! Nothing really exciting on the baby front happened this week
Worst moment this week: Just been exhausted from working tons & being back in classes
Miss anything: Wine! Sad, but true! Some nights it could really help! And my energy, like usual!
Movement: Nothing yet. I've heard you are more likely to feel movement sooner the second time around, so hoping for it soon!
Cravings: My appetite is pretty much back, which is so nice! Not having such aversions like I had been. Definitely loving apple everything right now & have a major sweet tooth! I definitely yelled to Greg that we need warm apple pie & ice cream!
Queasy or sick: Not really any more, thank goodness! It finally died down. I get a little sick if I don't eat soon enough after waking up, but that's just me in general.
Looking forward to: My appointment in 2 weeks & the anatomy scan! So ready to know what this little one is so I can start buying goodies!

Finally feeling more like myself now, which is so nice! Greyson has become obsessed with babies, always pointing them out especially if they're crying. My little bump is definitely bigger than this point with Greyson. Crazy how everything happens earlier each time around!
Hope everyone is having a good Labor Day weekend! We have been pretty chill around here this weekend, which we all have needed! Tomorrow will be our adventure to the Colorado State Fair which I'm sure will not disappoint! Excited for fair food & taking Grey on some small rides. And of course fair food!
